Book Review: Divergent Series Part 2: Allegiant

    As promised, I am updating my review of the Divergent trilogy now that I have finished reading the third book, Allegiant. I'm keeping this post short to avoid any spoilers, and also because i've already reviewed the first two books.
   As it turns out, the series is not a trilogy, but a series. There is a fourth book, Four: The Transfer, which I do not own so I can't read and review but I so wish I did. 
    I just finished Allegiant about 10 minutes ago. I'm still crying, and slightly hating Veronica Roth because Why do all my favorite characters have to die in every single book that I love?! I've cried more over this book than I have over any others, even John Green's The Fault in Our Stars (we'll see about the movie, though; I have yet to watch it). 
     In Allegiant, Tris, Four, Christina, and a few of their friends discover that there is an enormous secret that the government has been hiding from them. From everyone. This secret has the capacity to change their entire world as they know it, and discover what is beyond their city walls. Allegiant answers a number of questions: What is outside of the city?, Where did they come from?, Why are there factions?, and what is the true meaning behind being Divergent?, and Will Tobias ever forgive his parents for what they've done?
     As stated in my previous post about Divergent, I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys Dystopian Fiction, Action, or simply just unique YA novels. My previous post also has a list of similar books to read if you enjoyed the Divergent series as much as I did.

7 Days of Color Day 2: Orange!

 On our second day, i'll be doing orange DIYs, since orange comes after red. Okay, I don't know whether i'll end up having a lot of halloween-ish posts on this or not, but i'll try not to.

Orange Peel Candles

These are adorable, and i'm sure they smell great!

Beeswax and Orange Peel Candle

There are many different ways to make candles out of oranges, apparently; and filling them with beeswax is one of them! I had to include this second tutorial, since this one is more likely to last longer and you can scent the beeswax with oils. 

Tie-Dye Summer Headbands

These are actually an etsy listing, but you could easily tie-dye a headband orange using the same method as a t-shirt.

Quick Valentine's DIY

        So, for Valentine's Day this year my boyfriend bought me one of those cute little teddy bears with the heart on it, right? Like these:

Well, sadly; the bear was cuddled too much, and the heart eventually broke off. 

He just looks so sad without his heart! So, I decided I had to do something with it, so that it wouldn't just get thrown away. I decided to sew a ribbon on to it and hang it on the wall; now I can keep it, along with the bear, forever.

I know; I need to work on my sewing skills. That ribbon is a mess. 

And that's what I did today. But the finished product is cute! Now the heart pillow is put to good use, and not just laying on my dresser waiting to be thrown away.

7 Days of Color Day 1: Red!

       If you don't know what's going on yet, i'm doing 7 Days of Color. Read about it in my post explaining it: 7 Days of Color

        On to Day 1 of our week of color! I've decided to go in rainbow order with these, so today, I'm posting red. Most of these DIYs are centered around Valentine's Day- because that's obviously the holiday you would most need red for. But, don't worry; i've included non-lovey-dovey things, too.

Maraschino Cherry Cake

First on this list is a Maraschino Cherry Cake. Technically, I have made this before, but I have decided to include it in the post anyway as I haven't done a post about it yet. I will get to this eventually, because it was absolutely amazing and I baked it for Mother's Day this year. Definitely worth trying.

7 Days of Color

   

          So, I sat down to write my second ever blog post and realised: I had no idea what to write about. I knew I wanted to do a post about crafts or DIY projects, but I didn't have any photos of previous projects and I didn't have time to make another. And then, after brainstorming for 73 years, I had an idea. Why not make a short masterpost of projects to do in the future?
         But I didn't want to just to any old craft list, I wanted it to have a theme- and so, I came to the conclusion to do 7 posts of crafts in certain colors. Of course, I will do all the colors of the rainbow- red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple; but I will also do pink, because who doesn't love pink?
        To sum this post up: over the next week, I will be writing color-themed posts with links to future projects to do, including crafts, DIYs, and recipes (yum!). And after all those posts, I may do a rainbow themed one as well, depending upon how well these go. Yay for ideas-
   (I just wanted to point out that the rainbow theme idea came from CrafterMinds, where I've borrowed one of their ideas.)
